No problem, your booking deposit is safe! We hold your deposit for a future date - and refund in full anything else you may have paid.
• How Much Will it Cost Me to Stay at Bure Cottage?
Weekly rentals range from £245 out of season to over £899 in summer. For prices, click the Tariff link on our website - you can also book there.
• How Does Your Deposits Work?
A 26% deposit on booking, with the balance + £75 breakage deposit due 5-weeks before your holiday. The £75 will be returned within 14-days of leaving the cottage (unless any damage).
• How Can I pay You?
It's up to you! The fastest way is to use our secure card or Paypal checkout during booking. This is automated and we don't see your details. The system will send you both a booking and payment receipt. You can also transfer direct to our bank or mail a cheque made out to N H Mckay(details at checkout).
• What is Included in the Rental Fee?
Unlike many other cottages at the Peninsular, Bure Cottage fees are fully-inclusive of all electricity and bed linen. Personal toiletries and towels are not provided.
• Can I Book a Short Break?
You can book 3-night stays during off-peak periods - click the Tariff tab to see availability. Weekly bookings are Saturday-to-Saturday; weekend booking Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings; and mid-week Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday evening. If you prefer extra dates, or days outside these, just e-mail or telephone.
• How Do I get to Bure Cottage?
We are 8-miles from Norwich and 125-miles from central London. Fast trains connect London and Cambridge to Norwich, where you change rail lines to Wroxham Village. Click the Location tab above. Address: 37 Peninsular Cottages, Staitheway Road, Wroxham, Norfolk, NR12 8TH.
• What Time Can I Arrive & Leave?
You can enter the cottage from 4pm of the day of your booking, and leave before 10am on the last day. If you arrive early the cottage may not be ready (especially in summer), so drive over the bridge into the village, park for free at Roys, and look around.
• Parking
Parking for one car is provided close to the cottage. There is an additional charge of £2.50 per day for additional vehicles (email to book).
• How do I Collect & Return Keys?
Your cottage key and an electronic fob for the secure car park will be in the key safe by the cottage's door - we will tell you the code closer to the booking date. Please deposit the keys there when you leave - a charge of £50 is retained for all keys not returned.
• Travel Insurance
We strongly advise you to take this out as we cannot accept liability for any guest possessions whilst in the property or any cancellations that guests may be required to make due to accident, bereavement or illness.
• Damage
Any damage must be reported immediately to reception. The holiday home renter is responsible for making sure there is no damage to the property on arrival. We reserve the right to withhold your security deposit for any damage and/or excessive cleaning.
• Can I Smoke in the Cottage?
All cottages at the marina are non-smoking and are fitted with a smoke detector. If you need to smoke, please go outside on the patio.
• Can I Take My Pet?
Sorry, we can't allow any animals because of hairs & smells left.
• How About Children?
Children of all ages are welcome! However, please be careful in the garden as the river is very close.
• What If I Cancel?
The booking deposit is non-refundable. However, other monies paid are refundable, less our sliding scale of cancellation charges:
6-weeks or more before booked date: 26% of booking
5-weeks or less: 30% of booking
4-weeks or less: 40% of booking
3-weeks or less: 60% of booking
2-weeks or less: 85% of booking
1-week or less: 100% of booking
